Ships as one-pound bags — order 2 lbs, get two sealed bags; order 5, get five. Each has a zipper and one-way valve, so you open one pound at a time and the rest stays fresh.
Sourced from the nutrient-rich volcanic slopes of Mount Kenya, this AA-grade Arabica represents the pinnacle of Kenyan coffee. The high altitude and meticulous processing result in a cup with vibrant acidity and a heavy body. Expect a complex profile of blackcurrant, citrusy grapefruit, and a wine-like finish. Best enjoyed via Pour-over or Chemex to highlight its intricate terroir.
Why Air-Roasted
At Hartford Coffee, we air-roast every bean in small batches right here in St. Louis. Air roasting suspends the beans on a bed of hot air, roasting them evenly from every angle without the scorching or smoky char of traditional drum roasters. Small batches mean we can dial in each origin to bring out its unique character — so you get cleaner flavor, brighter acidity, and a smoother cup, every time.

Why your order comes in one-pound bags
However much you order, we pack it in one-pound bags — order two pounds and you get two of them, order five and you get five. There’s a reason we do it this way.
Every bag has a zipper and a one-way valve. The valve lets the gases from fresh-roasted coffee escape without letting air back in, and the zipper seals it up tight after you open it. So you only ever break the seal on one pound at a time. The rest sits sealed and fresh until you’re ready for it.
Most places ship one big bag. You open it, and the clock starts on the whole thing. Ours keeps the coffee you haven’t gotten to yet tasting like it just came off the roaster — because as far as the coffee knows, it did.
